Doc Saisha Scholarship
Saisha carried a blend of compassion , clear ambition and determination. From a young age, she knew she wanted to become a doctor—not just as a profession, but as a path to heal and serve.
At the age of 10, a visit to an animal NGO, All Creatures Great and Small, deeply moved her, awakening her desire to care and enable herself to bring comfort to those in pain. As she grew older, her interests evolved but purpose remained constant. She got inclined towards gynaecology and mental health.
At just 15, she completed an internship at the Brain Behaviour Research Foundation of India, Rajghat—working alongside peers who were all graduates or above. Saisha was also the junior school head girl of her time.
Beyond academics, Saisha lived her purpose. As a volunteer with CanSupport, she formed heartfelt connections with teen cancer patients. Nisha, a 17-year-old cancer patient, once gifted her a nail paint she had admired—a small gesture that spoke of a deep bond. Supriya, just 15, would look out for Saisha during day care visits, finding comfort simply in her presence. Rani, a young caregiver to her aling brother, found in Saisha a true friend.
Once, Saisha made 500 handmade cards for children in hospitals—to lift their spirit.
Service and giving were at the heart of who Saisha was.
To honor her spirit, we chose to donate her eyes after her passing.
The Doc Saisha Scholarship is a continuation of her light. It seeks to support aspiring medical students who intend to heal with skill, humility and humanity. Through every life it touches Saisha’s dream will continue to live on.
